New House

We’ve been very busy.
Moving into our new house, unpacking and adjusting to living here. We also had Thanksgiving and I had my biggest work event of the year, both smack dab in the middle of it. Thankfully, things have started to settle down.
When we first moved in, Alston would go through the house repeating “nuuuuu houuuuse”, but he didn’t quite understand that this was our house. A couple of times he even went to the door and said “home” which really broke my heart. It took him a little while, but he’s finally starting to understand this is our home.
He has adjusted well now and can tell you all the names of the rooms. Daddy’s room is the “mancave”, where Daddy, Alston, & Deuce spend most of their evenings watching football. The kitchen is the kitchen, and everything from the livnig room on is Ahnos’ Nuuuu House. I guess Mommy doesn’t have a room. Oh well.
We’ve still got a few boxes to unpack and some pictures to be hung, but for the most part, we’re pretty cozy in our new neighborhood house.
Alston helped me decorate for Thanksgiving. We used the turkey he made at school. According to Alston, this turkey says boggle boggle, instead of the more traditional gobble gobble.
Our sweet real estate agent, Mary Ellis, gave us this gift basket as a housewarming gift. It was full of Cracker Barrel goodies and books for Alston. It inspired us to start having our Mommy & Alston weekend breakfast dates again. We really love all the windows in our dining room; its the perfect sunny spot for pancakes and coffee.
Now that we’ve settled in a bit, I hope to have a little more time for blog posts. Stay tuned for more New House goodness including lots of Chirstmas decorations!
