Here’s the downlow:
Tax Credit: 30% of cost up to $1,500
Expires: December 31, 2010
Details: Must be an existing home & your principal residence. New construction and rentals do not qualify.
Here’s what may be covered:
Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Roofs (Asphalt & Metal)
Water Heaters (non-solar)
Windows & Doors
Each state is also running its own appliance rebate program, where you can get a rebate for purchasing an energy star rated appliance.
Alabama’s program started in April and all the funds were reserved by May. However, if funds become available they may hold a second rebate period in October 2010 during Energy Awareness Month.
