We’ve had a little virus passing around the house. Alston had a terrible fever last Saturday and we ended up having to call the after-hours line because it wouldn’t go down. The nurse had us give him a sponge bath in lukewarm water in the middle of the night. Thankfully, his fever finally broke. After speaking with the nurse again on Tuesday, she assured me what he had was just a virus and that we would have to wait it out. After a number of really bad diapers, two incidents of throwing up, a nasty cough and crusty eyes, I left work Wednesday to take him to the pediatrician. His virus had caused some bacteria to settle into his chest and he was developing bronchitis. The crusty eyes? Pink eye, probably caused by the same virus.

I stayed home with Alston on Thursday. Daddy left work early Thursday to go to the doctor as well. His virus turned into a sinus infection. Momma D came home Thursday evening sick and stuffy as well. Friday morning, I woke up with a stuff head and one crusty eye. Lovely. A 25 year old with pink eye.
